I wrote yesterday about a LiveDeal partnership with SimplyHired. Today comes another partnership announcement, this time with classifieds aggregator Vast. Vast, founded by Naval Ravikant, is a search engine for classifieds and has crawling technology that allows it to create, according to Vast, the largest database of classifieds listings online.
Vast’s listings will be added (later this month or early next month) to the LiveDeal database and be presented in the LiveDeal look and feel. LiveDeal will continue to have a direct relationship with sellers and maintain its own advertisers.
This is a good deal for both parties: Vast has technology and listings but a tiny audience. LiveDeal has been growing its traffic and has a very large database itself, but this will allow it to stake claim to a clear leadership position in classifieds.
No word on whether this is a prelude to a merger or acquisition of Vast by LiveDeal.
The world of online classifieds just keeps getting more interesting — strangely.
