Marchex has issued a free white paper on the local Internet and local search. It’s a very nice overview of the current state of the market and the opportunity and can be downloaded here. BTW: it’s free of the usual corporate white paper self promotion and really reads like an analyst document. One of the principal authors, Matthew Berk, was a former Jupiter analyst before he started OpenList, which Marchex acquired in May of last year.
The company has also started a local blog called LocalPoint.
