AOL to Make Netscape into Digg

Trying to find traction for Netscape.com, which went from being a browswer to a low-cost ISP, AOL's Jason Calacanis has now cooked up the idea (and received corporate approval) to turn Netscape into a version of Digg — a social news site that features and ranks news stories based on popularity.AOL News is the fourth most popular US news website, according to Nielsen//Netratings. The new Netscape news site will seek to combine traditional media content with blogs. Here's the beta site.
