TechCrunch posted about a new Cityguide being introduced by the satirical publication The Onion. The name of the site (“Decider“) is something of a joke — an mildly obscure reference to George Bush’s reference to himself as “The Decider.”
But the new site wants to help you decide about where to eat, what to do, etc.
Right now the site is only in Chicago. But it joins the list of Cityguides and related review sites out there: Yelp, Citysearch, City’s Best (AOL), Metromix, Cityvoter and so on.
While it may at first seem strange that The Onion would develop such a site, when you think of The Onion as a newspaper it’s not so far fetched. And The Onion does have real listings for local events, reviews, etc. in addition to its satirical content in the print publication.
