Social media enabler Praized has released an iPhone app, which is intended (according to Seb P’s blog post) to serve as a kind of demo of what’s possible:
The idea of this simple mobile application is to show that anyone can use the Praized platform API to build their own Local / Social mobile applications for any mobile platform. Our customers can work with any internal or external developers to leverage the whole Praized technology stack in a mobile environment. We can also work on turnkey projects with world-class mobile developers in our network.
It works as a stand-alone local search app and sends traffic (eventually, at the profile level) to Yellowpages.ca or Yellowbook in the US. One feature I like about it is the ability to look near me (by default) or in another city (via a second tab).
As an aside, note that in this screenshot TeleAtlas is still the data provider for Google Maps in Canada, though no longer in the US.
