Ad Spending Data from Nielsen

Here are some Nielsen figures on ad spending, released last week, from the first half of 2008:

Counter-intuitively, the Internet is down — when it should be up vs. other media. The recession should be benefiting digital more than it appears to be (although other surveys and forecasts show that traditional is down and digital is holding).

Finally, here are the top advertiser spending figures:

These numbers are going to get much worse in the second half.
