Here’s the release that went out on the Urban Mapping Local Summit, which took place last week in Las Vegas. It turned out to be a really interesting gathering of people with different interests in the local segment.
Companies represented included:
- AOL Mobile
- Medio Systems
- Skyhook Wireless
- Zvents
- Trulia
- eBay/Kijiji
- DoubleClick
- Marchex
- MapQuest
- Placebase
- Krillion
- RHD/LocalLaunch
Peter Krasilovsky and I were there as industry analysts. Each person presented slides. But what was most valuable and interesting was the informal Q&A and discussion that happened among the participants. We were all in a suite sitting on couches and the discussion was candid (sometimes surprisingly so) and extended.
I found the intimacy and informality of the event to be highly valuable. Unfortunately we were not permitted to discuss specifics publicly without permission. So what happens in Vegas . . .
