Oodle’s BandTracker Out of Beta

Oodle’s BandTracker local concert database is coming out of beta. It’s also a popular facebook widget with roughly 30K users to date. According to the distributed press materials, “The BandTracker database is currently at over 325,000 bands and over 650,000 shows. That’s more than 100 times the amount of listings for any tickets database.”

BandTracker offers the ability to search for shows by band name and receive email alerts regarding upcoming shows, with links to Oodle to buy local tickets. Jambase offers similar local concerts functionality.

The local events (and soon tickets) segment is quickly becoming more developed and competitive. Local events is a content area that print newspapers used to “own” and should dominate online — but don’t.
