Grayboxx has been around for quite awhile without a product in the market. CEO Bob Chandra says he’s found a proxy for user reviews that allows for much broader coverage (see his recent guest column) and is equally reliable. Now he’s announced an advisory board that includes some impressive individuals.
We’ll see when the product is finally released whether it can deliver on the promise that Chandra has held out for, relatively speaking, so long. YellowBot’s apparent rapid gains in traffic suggest that it’s still possible to break into this crowded market. But it’s going to be extremely challenging.

I, too, am waiting to see if Grayboxx can walk the walk. Perhaps the quality of Grayboxx’s advisory board and the lengthy to-market time are indications that the company is working to advance the “art and science” of local search. I hope so. The market doesn’t need another local search company that provides less-than-ideal results.

Grayboxx seems to be doing a good job in creating a quality product. There is nothing that I hate more than when a company pushes a product that has little use, and is not ready to be on the market. I like the fact that Grayboxx is waiting to give us something that we can actually use!
