I blogged last week about new and improved visual travel shortcuts on Yahoo!. This weekend I noticed them for movies too. Here’s one for The Simpson’s movie (which I haven’t seen). It asks for a zip and then gives users a list of local theaters as well as reviews of the film. There’s also a link to the trailer.
This is both local and vertical. The large majority of local search traffic comes through the “front door” of the major search engines. Thus we can expect more and more innovation on general search results pages to add more context and structure to results, including local information.
