Amazon and a team of grad students at Northwestern are surveying users about mobile product search, purchase behavior and mobile user behavior more generally. Currently one can access Amazon through a WAP browser on a mobile phone (I uses Windows Mobile), but the experience is quite weak and therefore almost worthless.
Apparently Amazon is trying to gauge the market or at least those customers who meet certain criteria to determine what to offer and how to improve mobile.
In a custom traffic comparison of 14 shopping sites that Hitwise’s LeeAnn Prescott performed for me in October of last year, Amazon had just over 50% of the traffic with BizRate, as the next in order, coming in at just over 9%.
