Barry Schwartz has a very long post at SEL about Imagine Live Search, Microsoft’s new “experimental” search engine. Here’s an example result for “sushi, San Francisco.” It’s not radically different from current Live Search, mostly the right column, with maps and images.
Barry compares and contrasts the new test site with other comparable sites from the majors. Although it’s not this simple, simply put most of the innovations on these sites are about the interface and how to present more relevant content in a simple and easy-to-use way. That’s what Google’s “Universal Search” is about too.
