NearbyNow: Wait and Watch

I met yesterday with NearbyNow CEO Scott Dunlap. We had a totally “off the record” conversation, which I unfortunately can’t discuss.

Over at VentureBeat Matt Marshall writes about the site and the potential next funding round. He characterizes NearbyNow as a “search engine specifically for your local shopping mall.” While that is correct as a technical matter, the company is building something much bigger than that.

It’s one of the most interesting companies right now in local and, as I’ve said before, it’s creating something extremely powerful.

Am I drinking the Kool-Aid? Maybe, but I don’t think so.

Stay tuned.

  1. Paul Says:

I’m not a huge “mall” guy, but if one around Minneapolis were to use NearbyNow’s system, I’d be there in an instant. It’s a time-saver.

I’m lookin’ forward to hearing what’s next.
