Barry Schwartz posted this morning at SEW about a new feature on Google book search: Find It at the Library. The idea is to help people find where books are physically located in their local libraries. This is an interesting and potentially helpful feature. What’s most interesting to me is that it mirrors Froogle’s “local shopping” information and Google’s larger effort to reach into the “real world” with its products and services.
Once the StepUp-Intuit + Google deal kicks in we’ll see a lot more local information appearing on Froogle (or whatever eventually emerges from Google in the shopping category).
