Greg,

As an advisor to the company, perhaps you could tell us a bit more about the methods UMI uses to obtain the "tons and tons of data" you mention above. I've heard a rumour that UMI gets neighborhood and transit data through PRA/FOIL requests (http://www.onnyturf.com/articles/read.php?article_id=662)...is this true? What happens when an agency has a service change?

It seems odd to announce a "product" without even a demo. What cities are available and when can we expect an application that uses this data?

i agree that facebook is much more interesting and open. I don't think if facebook should be sold to microsoft- what's the reason to? It's justing it's own core market group- unlike microsoft google etc whose viwers and users are a bunch of people that take loads of survey and research to find out a bit info about themselves. But facebook? it's got all its market info from the moment a profile is created.

These phishing scumbags, MerchantCircle are at it again. Just got a call saying they need my verification because someone saw my website and contacted them to see if I'm a legitimate business. This is an outright lie - I'm a professional photographer with a portfolio of over 500 photos online. No one is going to look at that and question whether I'm a real business.

Bottom line, this company's tactics for phishing is based on a big lie, they lie in every one of their intrusive phone calls, and they've been doing it for over 3 years.

Why do some here still think that they may be a good company????

They still have no way to contact them via their website. What more do you need to see that these guys are 100% crooks?

I agree that a local ad network is required. I just don't see it flying yet. We have a fundamental problem with website adoption. Your Palore post from May 8 demonstates this perfectly. Why in a category as competitve as restuarants, only 22% of them have a website in NY. When companies will not even adopt the most basic of internet marketing, what hope is there for an ad network.
