Citysearch recently announced a traffic deal with Idearc. Now it’s announced a similar deal with AT&T interactive/YellowPages.com:
AT&T Interactive and Citysearch, an operating business of IAC (Nasdaq: IACI), today announced a distribution agreement that integrates Citysearch user reviews, editorial content and business profiles into YELLOWPAGES.COM (YP.COM). The additional content on YP.COM offers consumers access to even more comprehensive information when searching locally. YP.COM advertisers benefit from increased consumer engagement, while Citysearch advertisers have another opportunity for online placements on a top 30 website.
“With its tremendous local reach, YELLOWPAGES.COM gives us the ability to offer Citysearch customers another distribution channel reaching millions of consumers nationwide,” said Jay Herratti, CEO, Citysearch. “In turn, Citysearch’s content will help YELLOWPAGES.COM users make informed decisions about where to spend their time and money.”
This is consistent with both YP publishers and Citysearch’s ongoing efforts to build their own networks and find high quality, cheaper traffic than search. It’s also consistent with some of the broader moves to broaden the use cases for yellow pages. Citysearch just did a version of this same deal with MySpace as well.
