Steve Espinosa of eLocal Listing is on the podium giving a presentation in a session I’m moderating about Google Maps and ranking in Google Maps.
Espinosa said that based on all their data the presence of video on SMB sites/landing pages boosts call volumes by more than 3X vs. those that don’t have video.
This was an impressive statsitic to me.

That is an impressive statistic, Greg.
Thank you so much for blogging from the conference. I hope you’ll post further info in the coming days.

Greg,
I think it’s important to note that the context was local service businesses. I’d love to have Steve clarify for which industries this was true and if it was universally true (and how large the data set).

Will’s question is excellent. What is the data set? A week or 3 ago, Greg posted here about age preferences with regard to various types of web applications– which age group tends to blog, look at videos’s download music, etc etc.
There are significant differences with regard to which age groups tend to use which types of applications. Moreover there are significant differences between services and products with regard to search.

Will ask Steve to clarify.
