A Local Realtor’s Internet Success

Matt McGee has a nice write up and interview at Search Engine Land with local realtor Teresa Boardman who has ridden blogging and other efforts online to tremendous success. She even uses Twitter very successfully as a marketing tool.

Most of her leads appear to come from her blog or other online efforts:

I don’t think I have any offline leads. I get some referrals, but the rest is from my online activities. I am pretty strategic and keep my marketing efforts focused. I have to say that the leads are very high quality, with an occasional crackpot or weirdo.

Most local realtors aren’t as proactive and savvy as Boardman, but it illustrates the possibility that money spent on marketing and advertising in traditional media might to some degree disappear over time — certainly the dollar amounts vs. offline will diminish — in favor of activities such as blogging or Tweeting.

Great read, Greg. I just wrote a post about using Twitter to get instant feedback in business.

Thanks, @ShariV on Twitter, for sharing Greg’s post!
