TurnHere Extends Deal With Hotel Chain
TurnHere is extending and expanding its relationship with Intercontinental Hotels, first announced in October of 2006. In the new deal syndication will be a major component. According to the press release:
To extend the reach and impact of the InterContinental Concierge videos, TurnHere will be producing shorter snapshots of the original videos featuring the popular recommendations of restaurants, shopping destinations, tourist attractions and notable merchants located in and around InterContinental destinations across the globe. The video snapshots as well as the original videos will be delivered to a host of lifestyle and travel blogs, including the InterContinental Travelogue blog. All videos will also be syndicated across various video Web sites and search engines, including AOL, Google, MSN, Veoh, Yahoo! and YouTube through TurnHere’s extended distribution and placement program.
This expansion reflects the success of the original program and Intercontinental’s interest in now getting these videos to a broader audience. TurnHere’s marketing director Morgan Brown provided me with a range of anecodotal reports about the success of these Intercontinental videos with the public and travelers.
There’s now tons of competition in the video segment (the list is becoming too long to name). Video will either totally replace conventional online display advertising or become an integral part of it in the near future.
A related issue is video syndication. It’s a mirror of other issues online: aggregating audiences and gaining distribution for advertisers. This is a second piece of the video puzzle that several have put together to varying degrees: now that you’ve made my video, get it in front of the right audiences.
