I’m having major computer issues for the last 24 hours which has inhibited my posting. (My PC is just quitting on me, as well as being slow.) I’m now faced with whether to get another PC or buy a Mac.
One of the issues is that I need another machine now and both of the PCs that I decided were worthy and at the price I wanted to pay are only available online and “in 3-5 business days.” That’s a major inhibitor for me.
It’s not even that I don’t want to pay shipping, I just need the machine today. So that probably means I’ll buy a Mac from the Apple store.

Greg, cease the opportunity! Don’t even think about it, just do it! I was an extremely loyal Windows guy until a couple months ago when my patience finally hit the boiling point. I’m now about as happy a Mac guy as one can get. The grass is SO much greener over here man.

Shoot me an email or a ring if you wanna talk more about this. It’s a frightening move, but well worth the bravery! Go for it!

Greg I have been a Mac user since 1989. I have three in my office now and a Cinema HD.
If I didn’t have a Mac, I would have never made it into the computer age let alone the internet age.
As much as you produce, you cannot afford equipment / tool failures.
Macs rarely - if ever - fail because of their internal software or viruses caught externally off the web. I haven’t had a work stoppage from software / box failure in five or six years and only then it was because I hadn’t updated all my software.
I have however pushed their boundaries of usage to the limits. The PowerBook G4 I used so much that the battery melted. Eventually three of the keys I used the most - 0 N D also stopped working. I took it into the Mac store and they replaced the battery on the spot, and after I ordered and received a replacement keyboard - replaced it while I waited.
My MacBook Pro is about a year old and I haven’t had any problems with it. I run Microsoft office so I can use Excel, Word and Powerpoint as if I were on a PC - without the headaches of using PCs. Its the best of both worlds…
