Topix Hires Former Yahoo! Vet for Biz Dev

Dave Galvan, who was with Yahoo! for many years (also InfoUSA, Netscape and AOL) and knows the local space extremely well is now head of biz dev at Topix. This is an interesting move that may signal Topix is entering a new phase of content syndication and product development.

Topix has built a powerful local content and advertising platform, as well as technology for partners, and is really in the early stages of its development. There’s no acquisition potential here because the company is already owned by newspapers.
