For overall classifieds, Oodle has emerged as a preferred partner for newspapers in the fight against Craigslist. Today the site announced a deal to power a free classifieds marketplace on the New York Post’s site. It’s a bit buried:

Oodle is eventually a takeover target and the Post’s owner News Corp. would be a likely acquiror. Last week early Oodle competitor Edgeio announced it was shuttering its service.
