Here’s the release:
Beginning in late November, Livedeal.com will begin featuring Yelp’s 1.8 million customer reviews on its online classifieds and yellow pages platforms, giving LiveDeal users an enormous wealth of user-generated content about local area businesses.
There’s nothing currently on the site as the release excerpt suggests, although users can independently rate businesses (scroll) directly through LiveDeal. The arrangement is made possible via the Yelp API, which the company created to more aggressively syndicate its reviews.
As pervasive as “social media” is/are these days it’s still difficult to capture a critical mass of content, which is why it makes sense to do something like LiveDeal is doing.
