AskTheLocal is a UK website that offers local store inventory information — where to buy products locally. It appears to still be unique in that market. In the US, NearbyNow, Channel Intelligence, Where2GetIt, ShopLocal, Krillion, various retail chains and others are working on offering that same information to varying degrees online and in mobile. In the US GShopper’s Slifter has in-stock product information (via Channel Intelligence I believe) and offers it to mobile shoppers through a relationship with Sprint.
