The release doesn’t seem to have yet found its way out into the news yet this morning, but Ingenio is announcing a relationship with Network Solutions, which will begin to offer PPCall as a one of its many flavors of online marketing:
As a part of this new relationship, Pay Per Call, a performance-based advertising service, will be included in Network Solutions suite of interactive marketing packages. The alliance marks the first time that Network Solutions customers will be able to generate phone calls from potential customers through their online marketing campaigns and pay only for calls received.
Beyond another distribution partner for Ingenio, what’s interesting here is the way in which advertisers will simultaneously gain online and mobile distribution without having to buy mobile separately. (Google is obviously doing something similar.) It’s a “metaphor” for how the market — and the mobile advertising infrastructure — will develop.
