Year End Search Term Roundups

Greg Jarboe over at Search Engine Watch rounds up and compares all the end-of-year top searches (for those that are interested) from Google, Yahoo and AOL. More interesting that the lists themselves are the potential conclusions that can be inferred or drawn by comparing them.

Jaboe speculates about the different demographic groups using the different engines as the explanation. But mostly these terms are just American popular culture on display.

Danny Sullivan at Search Engine Land pierces the top terms with an interesting analysis that tries to explain the difference and why many terms (i.e., “Google” and “sex”) don’t show up.
