Again, all market share data must be regarded critically. But analytics firm Enquisite has put out some search market share numbers that are the most dramatic in the market (there are a couple caveats on the post, which must be noted).
Google has a near 80% share; here’s Enquisite’s breakdown:
Close to the Enquisite numbers above, here’s Topix’s Rich Skrenta on what he believes is Google’s true market share (70%). And here’s Danny Sullivan’s discussion of search traffic and comparison of stats from comScore, Nielsen and Hitwise.

hm….I had to research this based on their September data. This is a survey from 10 busy sites (the 10 sites showed 4 million search queries in September.
I like seeing data from webmasters as counter research to what the large companies put out. This is so dramatically different than what the media reporting companies show.
Man….if this data got accepted by the public….Y’s stock would plummet and G’s advertising info would go through the roof.
BTW; my logs show a fair amount of activity from Y content sources such as Y mail or something else…on top of Y queries.
But in general my Y traffic is down like these guys show.
