This is a bit “off topic,” but I’ve always found the concept of social/peer-to-peer lending site Prosper.com really provocative. Beyond the concept, I haven’t really followed the site. But now TechCrunch covers the fact that it now has 100K users and has logged $20 million in loans funded through the site.
Part eBay, part old-world lending network, it’s pretty interesting.
