First Fruits of Schmidt Joining Apple Board

In the very interesting and wait and see category: Barry Schwartz reports at SEW on a potential deal (unconfirmed) between Google and Apple, whereby Google video is distributed through Apple’s iTV product and Google ads would start appearing on iTunes and elsewhere on Apple sites.

If true, this would seem to be the first “fruits” (so to speak) of Google CEO Eric Schmidt joining the Apple board. Or, alternatively, perhaps Google and Apple have already worked out a range of ways to work together and Schmidt joining the board was merely an expression of the two companies’ decision to collaborate.

And now to irresponsible but very tantalizing speculation regarding a potential merger of the two companies. It’s very unlikely-to-impossible. But consider the implications if it were to happen . . .
