TiVo to Track Ad Watching/Skipping

I saw this yesterday and wanted to post but now have to just link (’cause I’m running late) to the Saul Hansell NY Times piece on TiVo‘s new program to track its users’ ad watching or skipping behavior — as the case may be. The company will deliver very granular data to advertisers/programmers but won’t be tracking personally identifiable information — for now (that’s the future, BT for TV).
