The formerly Knight Ridder-owned 
Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News and Philly.com used CareerBuilder to power their online jobs content. Knight Ridder was one of the three owners of CareerBuider, the others of course being Gannett and The Tribune Co. But McClatchy sold the Philadelphia papers and sites to a group of local investors. Now that those papers have no stake in CareerBuilder they’ve decided to end the relationship and partner with Monster for local jobs information.
Monster also has an opening with the San Jose Mercury News in the same way. The Merc was also previously owned by Knight Ridder and is being sold (notwitstanding anti-trust litigation) to MediaNews Group (with help from Hearst).
