As someone who planned or helped plan a dizzying 6 conferences in a very compressed 2 1/2 years, while at The Kelsey Group, I can tell you how much work goes into these events. And as someone who has now attended and/or spoken at enough conferences for several lifetimes, these are very well-run shows.
For those who are in, have dealings with or are interested in the yellow pages industry, I would encourage attending the upcoming DDC/directories conference. Now that I’m no longer there, I have no stake in recommending this; I’m just reacting to the lineup, which looks like the broadest and perhaps best mix of keynotes in the last several years:
- Paolo Cellini, Executive Vice President - Internet, Seat Pagine Gialle
- Ike Harris, President - Advertising & Publishing Group, BellSouth Corp.
- Carol Johnson, Deputy CEO, Singapore Yellow Pages
- Stuart McKelvey, CEO, TMP Directional Marketing
- Dennis Payne, President and CEO of AT&T Directory Operations
Of course, there's always the danger that CEOs get up there and spin and tell you everything's just fine, which it ain't (in many cases). But hopefully that won't happen. Here’s where you can learn more.

Greg,
Thanks for the recommendation. It carries a lot of weight. We’re pretty excited about the lineup.

Sure. You deserve the credit for putting together a good program.
