ePaper and the ‘Newspaper iPod’

Here's an interesting piece from today's NY Times (reg. req'd) about the forthcoming generation of eBook/ePaper portable devices. Broad adoption of such devices would tie the print version of newspapers much more closely to the online version. But they would also eliminate one reason many people subscribe to physical newspapers — to read them on their public transit commutes.

But the implications of widespread adoption of such devices for mobile Internet access, online video and thus mobile advertising are much broader.
