I don't own one, but I heard this term awhile ago at a conference and can't stop using it.
A part of the Yahoo! Mobile/Go initiative, Yahoo! and RIM (the maker of the Blackberry) announced at CTIA that Yahoo! email, IM and search (incl. Local) will be now available through the beloved device. The Blackberry form factor makes it more likely that Local Search would be used than on "traditional" mobile phones with tiny screens. (I keep flirting with buying a smartphone, but haven't yet.)
AOL's recent mobile user survey indicated that mobile search was a "must have" feature for about a third of users, while maps were seen as essential by 51% of users. Thirty-two percent want email on their phones and around 20% want to send IMs from their desktops to their phones or use mobile IM.
Last year and this year are foundation building years for Mobile Local Search and 2007 will be a year when we start to see more meaningful usage of these applications by consumers.

Om Malik has a variety of thoughtful things to say about the announcement and believes it trumps the "GoogleBerry."
